abstract | Veterinary compositions comprise a tetracycline antibiotic and an aminomethyl phosphonate in which the amino group may be further substituted by an alkyl or non-toxic substituted alkyl group or groups. Preferably they are of the general formula <FORM:1046436/A5-A6/1> in which n is 1, 2 or 3 and each "R" is a hydrogen atom or a C1-18 alkyl, chlorine-substituted alkyl or a C1-12 hydroxy-substituted alkyl group and X is hydrogen, sodium, potassium, ammonium or C1-18 alkyl. Preferably a surfactant (which may be anionic, cationic, non-ionic or ampholytic) is also present. Numerous examples of suitable surfactants are mentioned. |
