abstract The compound of the formula <FORM:1042196/C2/1> is prepared by reacting chloral with 2-aminopyridine.ALSO:A composition for controlling phytopathogenic micro-organisms comprises a compound of the formula:- <FORM:1042196/A5-A6/1> together with one or more of the following:- solid vehicles, emulsifiers, dispersing agents, water, wetting agents, organic solvents boiling above 100 DEG C., fertilisers, adhesives or other pesticides. The compositions may be used to treat plants, seeds or soil. The other pesticides may be 3:4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, diisobutyl-phenoxyethoxyethyl, dimethyl, benzyl ammonium chloride, cetyl pyridinium chloride, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, TMTD, 2:21-thio-bis - (4.6-dichlorophenol), 21-nitro-2-furfuryl iodide, salicyl anilides; dichloro and dibromo salicylanilides, tribromosalicylanilides, dichlorocyanuric acid, tetrachloro salicylanilides and hexachlorophene. Specified forms are pastes, granules, powders, wettable powders, emulsions, suspensions or solutions. Nonionic, cationic or anionic surfactants are specified.
