abstract | 1,041,315. Magnetic structures. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 22, 1965 [Aug. 26, 1964], No. 34936/64. Heading H1H. [Also in Division H3] A multi-apertured ferrite plate suitable for magnetic storage purposes is made by a method which comprises preparing a slurry of ground ferrite material in a dissolved binder, preparing a mould consisting of an organic polymer base piece provided with upstanding columns of the same polymer, applying the slurry to the mould and levelling off in line with the tops of the columns, allowing the solvent to evaporate. removing the mass so formed, and heating first at 400-500‹ C. to drive off the binder and polymer, and secondly to 1400‹ C. to sinter the ferrite to form the apertured plate. The binder may be ethyl cellulose and butyl phthalate in butyl alcohol and xylene. The polymer which forms the columns and basepiece may be polyvinyl formaldehyde resin. |
