titleOfInvention | Polymerization of conjugated diolefins |
abstract | Polymers of conjugated dienes are made by polymerizing at least one diene in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) TiCl4, (b) at least one organoaluminium compound or aromatic etherate thereof and (c) carbon disulphide. The Specification contains extensive details of the (b) component. Exemplified (b) compounds are aluminium triisobutyl phenyl etherates. Exemplified dienes are isoprene, and butadiene. The polymerization is generally carried out in an inert diluent, and the polymer recovered and vulcanized by conventional techniques. Continuous processes may be employed. |
