abstract A self-propellant composition comprising monomethylol - 5,5 - dimethyl hydantoin dissolved in a mixture of a liquefied gas propellant and an aliphatic alcohol or ketone containing not more than four carbon atoms in the molecule. The propellant may be propane, butane, a chlorofluorinated hydrocarbon or mixtures thereof. The other solvent may be methanol, propanol, ethanol, acetone or mixtures thereof. A non-volatile liquid such as dipropylene glycol or isopropyl myristate may also be included, also a suitable dyestuff. The composition is used for the treatment of foot rot in cattle and sheep.ALSO:An aerosol composition for the treatment of foot rot in cattle and sheep contains monomethylol-5, 5-dimethylhydantoin as active ingredient, plus solvents, propellants and if desired a dyestuff.
