titleOfInvention Process for fireproofing textile fibres
abstract Aqueous "reactive derivative" being a compound which condenses with -OH or -NH- groups, whose residue after such condensation contains at least 20% N, and "fire-proofing agent," being an aqueous solution of products resulting from the action of NH3 and CH3OH on PnNn- 1Cl2n+3, where n is an integer greater than 1, are used consecutively or in admixture to treat textile fibres. The "reactive derivative" e.g. hexamethylol melamine, polymerized methylated hexamethylolmelamine, cyanuric chloride, triaziridinylphosphine oxide, and trimethylaziridinylphosphine oxide, reacts with the textile and/or the fireproofing agent, which may be P4N3Cl(OCH3)5(NH2)5, whose preparation is described in Specification 947,634, with or without (PNCl2)n polymers. Specification 865,396 is also referred to.ALSO:Textile fibres are fireproofed by impregnation with a fire-proofing agent being an aqueous solution of products resulting from the action of NH3 and CH3OH on PnNn-1CP2n+3 where n is an integer greater than 1, and with an aqueous "reactive derivative" having a high content of nitrogen, and thereafter heat-treating the fibres at 100 DEG -200 DEG C. The "reactive derivative" is a compound which condenses with -OH or -NH- groups, whose residue after such condensation contains at least 20% N : e.g. hexamethylolmelamine, polymerized methylated hexamethlolmelamine, cyanuric chloride, triaziridinylphosphine oxide, and trimethylaziridinylphosphine oxide. The "reactive derivative" and the fire-proofing agent may be applied in the same or in different baths, urea being present. (PNCl2)n polymers may also be present.
