titleOfInvention Mixed chromium complex dyestuffs
abstract The invention comprises mixed chromium complex azo dyes of the general formula <FORM:1028236/C4-C5/1> wherein A and B are radicals of diazo components in which the complex-linked group is, in each case, in the o-position to the azo group, R stands for an alkyl sulphonyl or aryl sulphonyl radical, R1 stands for an alkyl sulphonyl radical or aryl sulphonyl radical different from R or for an acyl radical derived from an aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid. The dyes are prepared by reacting a mixture of appropriate dyes with a chromium yielding agent or by reacting a 1:1-chromium complex of an appropriate dye with an appropriate metal free dye to form a 2:1-chromium complex. In Example (1) the dye 4-nitro-2-aminophenol --> 1-methyl-sulphonylamino-7-hydroxynaphthalene is chromed and heated with the dye 4-nitro-2-aminophenol --> 1-acetyl -amino-7-hydroxynaphthalene to obtain a bluish olive dye for wool. Many additional examples are furnished. In general the dyes are suitable for colouring wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide and urethane fibres.
