titleOfInvention Process for the polymerization of diolefins
abstract A catalyst for use in the polymerization of conjugated diolefins comprises (a) a complex compound obtained by reaction of an inorganic salt of a transition metal with air organonitrile component and (6) an organo-aluminium compound of the general formula: RnAlCl3- n, where R is an alkyl group containing 1-12 carbon atoms and n has a value from 1 to 2. The organonitrile compound may be an aliphatic or aromatic nitrile or an isonitrile. The transition metal is preferably cobalt, nickel, titanium, copper, vanadium or rhodium. The polymerization is preferably carried out in an inert solvent. Preparation of component (a) is exemplified.
