abstract The product from the reaction of epichlorhydrin with a primary C3-30 amine or a secondary C4-60 amine and a disecondary amine is neutralized by addition of an alkali metal hydroxide, and an excess of a hydrocarbon solvent, e.g. benzene or toluene, or of dioxan is added, which dissolves the polycondensate, while the salt formed is precipitated and filtered off, after which the solvent is distilled off from the filtrate. In examples, a polycondensate of epichlorhydrin with n-octadecylamine and piperazine is neutralized with NaOH and extracted with benzene. Uses.-Tinctorial modifier for textile fibres or films of crystalline polyolefin or polyacrylonitrile.
