titleOfInvention Colouring substance for lipsticks
abstract Lipsticks contain, as the colouring substance, a non-toxic, oil-soluble azosulphonic acid whose sodium salts are water-soluble. Acids exemplified are 1-(41-sulpho-11-naphthylazo)-2-naphthol-6,8, -disulphonic acid, 1-(41-sulpho-11-phenylazo)-2-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid, 1-(41-sulpho-11-naphthylazo)-2-naphthol-3,6, 8-trisulphonic acid, 2-(5-sulpho-2,4-xylylazo)-1-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid, 3-chloro aniline-1-(21, 41-dichloro benzolyamino)-8-naphthol-4, 6-disulphonic acid, and 1-p-sulphophenylazo-2-naphthol. The lipsticks are prepared by dissolving the acid dye in a solvent therefor, working the solution into a lipstick base e.g. a mixture of isopropyl palmitate, oleyl alcohol, ozokerite and "Comperlan" (Registered Trade Mark), optionally including castor oil, and then pouring the composition into moulds.
