titleOfInvention Pyrimidine derivatives
abstract The invention comprises 2 - (quinazol -21-ylamino)-pyrimidines and their preparation by reacting a 2-guanidinoquinazoline with a compound that forms a pyrimidine ring by cyclization with the guanidino group of the 2-guanidinoquinazoline. Particularly preferred are compounds of the formula <FORM:1024908/C2/1> wherein R and R11 are each H, NH2, OH, aromatic, or the group A; R1 is H, a halogen, acylamino, the group A or the group A-O-, or aromatic; R1, R2, R3 and R4 have the values of R1 except acylamino; and R5 is H or alkyl; A being aliphatic, alicyclic or aralkyl. Suitable cyclizing reactants are acetylacetone, ethylacetoacetate, diethylmalonate and ethyl cycano acetate. The compounds of the invention have-microbiocidal and antioxidant properties.
