Benzene-m-disulphonic acid is prepared by sulphonating benzene monosulphonic acid with sulphuric acid at a temperature below 250 DEG C. and an absolute pressure below 10 mm. while distilling off sulphuric acid and water from the reaction mixture. An example is given. |
