titleOfInvention | A process for dyeing and printing polypropylene materials |
abstract | Polypropylene materials which may contain metals, e.g. Cu, Co or Ni, may be dyed by applying isoindolenines from which phthalocyanines can be obtained and producing phthalocyanines by a heat treatment. The preferred isoindolenines are 1-amino-3-imino-isoindolenines. The polypropylene materials, e.g. fibres or fabrics, may contain a nickel phenolate of bis-(alkylphenol)-monosulphide as well as stabilizers and ultra-violet light absorbers. The isoindolenines may be applied by dyeing, padding or printing techniques at 50-100 DEG C. from liquors or pastes which may also contain reducing agents, dispersing or emulsifying agents, solvents e.g. methanol and trichloroethylene, and urea, possibly drying at 70-90 DEG C. and heating for 5-30 minutes at 100-140 DEG C. The dyeings may be finished by soaping and rinsing. Non-metal-containing polypropylene fibres may be treated with a mettallising agent, e.g. with a compound of the formula <FORM:1022658/D1-D2/1> then dried and heated prior to the dyeing process. Examples are given. |
