abstract 1,021,747. Measuring bridges. FARBENFABRIK WOLFEN VEB. Nov. 6,1963, No. 43865/63. Heading G1U. An A.C. Wheatstone bridge arrangement for measuring changes in inductance caused by the movement of a displaceable rod within a winding 1 is provided with arrangements for compensating for extraneous factors which effect the measurement, such as temperature changes. To compensate for the effect of temperature on the winding 1 of the bridge arms contains a temperature variable resistance R T . The output from the bridge is rectified in a ring modulator 4, 5, 6, 7 and a D.C. output is obtained across the points 8 and 9 to be fed to the measuring instrument. A further temperature variable resistance R H is included in the D.C. current path in order to compensate for the effect of temperature on the operation of the ring modulator.
