abstract The invention comprises all stereoisomeric forms (including mixtures thereof) of compounds of the general formula <FORM:1015794/C2/1> (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical or an aryl radical optionally substituted by a hydroxy group, and R2 represents an alkyl or aralkyl radical) and acid addition salts thereof, pharmaceutical preparations containing them, and their preparation by reacting a compound of the formula <FORM:1015794/C2/2> with R1CHO. The compounds of the invention are b -adrenergic blocking agents, and may be administered orally or by injection in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, capsules, aqueous or oily solutions or suspensions, emulsions or dispersible powders) containing them together with a diluent or carrier.
