titleOfInvention Process for dyeing or printing shaped structures of linear aromatic polyesters, especially polyethylene terephthalates
abstract Shaped structures, e.g. fibres and foils, of linear aromatic polyesters, especially polyethylenterephithalates, are dyed or printed with an aqueous dispersion of the disazo dyestuff of the formula <FORM:1013228/D1-D2/1> The dyeing may be carried out in the presence of a carrier at 95-105 DEG C. or without a carrier at 120-140 DEG C. and the printing may be effected as usual followed by drying and thermofixation at 200 DEG C. The specified carriers are o- or p-phenyl-phenol, salicylic and methyl-salicylic acid esters, mono-, di- and tri-chlorobenzenes, benzoic acid and methyl naphthalenes. In Example 3 the printing paste contains a rubber thickener and naphtholdiglycol ether. Examples of dyeing and printing polyethylene-terephthalate fabrics are given.
