titleOfInvention | New disperse dyestuffs of the benzene-azo-benzene series |
abstract | The invention comprises disperse monoazo dyes of formula <FORM:1012239/C4-C5/1> wherein A is the residue of a diazo component of the benzene series devoid of sulphonic acid groups, X is an acyl radical, Z is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C1-C5 alkyl or alkoxy group, Y and Y1 are C1-C5 alkylene radicals, the same or different, R is a C1-C5 alkyl radical, and R1 is hydrogen or a C1-C5 alkyl radical. The dyes are prepared by coupling the diazo compound of an amine A-NH2 with an appropriate N,N-disubstituted - 3 - acylamino - aniline. The dyes preferably contain a negative substituent (i.e. one which is capable of withdrawing electrons from the benzene ring) in the component A. Specified substituents in A in the examples are halogen atoms, nitro, cyano, alkylsulphonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, sulphamyl and trifluoromethyl. The dyes are used to colour aromatic polyester material in orange, red and blue shades. Specifications 491,793 and 1,012,238 are referred to. |
