abstract The invention comprises disperse monoazo dyes of formula <FORM:1012238/C4-C5/1> wherein A is hydrogen or a nitro group, B is a hydrogen or halogen atom, n is 1 or 2, m is 1 or 2, X is an acyl radical, Z is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C1-C5 alkyl or alkoxy radical, Y and Y1 are C1-C5 alkylene radicals, the same or different, R1 is hydrogen or a C1-C5\t alkyl radical and R is a C1-C5 alkyl radical. The dyes are prepared by coupling an appropriate diazotized p-nitroaniline with an appropriate N,N - disubstituted - 3 - acylamino - aniline. The dyes are used to colour artificial textile materials, particularly aromatic polyester fibres, in blue shades. Specification 491,793 is referred to.
