titleOfInvention Chlorofluoroalkane compositions
abstract The invention consists of a mixture of (A) at least one polyol containing primary and or secondary hydroxyl groups, and optionally also amino ether and ester groups, (B) at least one of trichlorofluoromethane, trichlorotrifluoroethane and tetrachlorodifluoroethanes, and (C) 0.05 to 5% by weight of the chlorofluoroalkane of at least one of the olefinic compounds allo ocimene, butadiene, isoprene, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, a -methylstyrene, acrylonitrile, a -pinene, b -pinene, terpinolene, a -terpinene, b -terpinene, d-limonene, C4 to C18 1-alkenes, C1 to C4 alkyl acrylates and methacrylates, isobutylene, diisobutylene or "Terpene-B," and the process for making said mixture by dissolving the chlorofluoroalkane containing 0.05 to 5% by weight of at least one of the specified compounds, as stabilizer, in the polyol. In the examples the rate of acidity formation and deterioration is studied, when mixtures according to the invention, and for comparison, lacking the olefinic stabilizer, are stored in tin-plated steel cans, the polyols used being " Polyol A " (a sorbitol/propylene oxide adduct, N,N,N1,N1-tetrakis-(2-hydroxy-propyl)-ethylene diamine, and a mixture of the aforesaid.ALSO:The invention consists of a mixture of (A) at least one polyol containing primary and or secondary hydroxyl groups, and optionally also amino, ether and ester groups, (B) at least one of trichlorofluoromethane, trichlorotrifluoroethane and tetrachlorodifluoroethanes, and (c) 0.05 to 5% by weight of the chlorofluoroalkane of at least one of the olefinic compounds allo ocimene, butadiene, isoprene, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, a -methylstyrene, acrylonitrile, a -pinene, b -pinene, terpinolene, a -terpinene, b -terpinene, d-limonene, C4 to C18 1-alkenes, C1 to C4 alkyl acrylates and methacrylates, isobutylene, diisobutylene or "Terpene-B," and the process for making said mixture by dissolving the chlorofluoroalkane containing 0.05 to 5% by weight of at least one of the specified compounds, as stabilizer, in the polyol.
