titleOfInvention Method of stabilising finely crystalline metal-free phthalocyanine of ª‰-form, and the use of the stabilised product as a pigment
abstract The invention comprises a dyestuff mixture consisting of finely crystalline metal-free b -phthalocyanine and a stabilizer comprising one or more finely crystalline a -form copper, nickel or cobalt phthalocyanines containing 1 to 4 halogen atoms per molecule, and optionally also halogen-free copper, nickel or cobalt phthalocyanines, said stabilizer containing at least 2% by weight of halogen and being present in such amounts that at least 0.08% by weight of the total composition consists of halogen. The mixture is made by grinding the constituents together or by mixing the alreadyground constituents. The mixtures colour lacquers, synthetic polymers, rubber, viscose and cellulose esters in green-blue shades. In an Example (8) a mixture of metal-free b -phthalocyanine and chlorinated copper phthalocyanine is ground with cyclized rubber and toluene to give a green-blue printing ink.ALSO:In examples, (7) a lacquer is made by milling together a pigment mixture containing metal-free b -phthalocyanine and chlorinated copper phthalocyanine, titanium dioxide and a stoving lacquer containing a coconut oil fatty acid modified alkyd resin and melamine varnishing resin in xylene/butanol; and (9) a pigment mixture containing metal-free b -phthalocyanine and assymetrical copper tetrachlorophthalocyanine is mixed and rolled with polyvinylchloride powder (suspension polymerizate), dioctylphthalate, dibutyl tin dilaurate and a stabilizer with a phosphate base to give a greenish-blue P.V.C. film.
