titleOfInvention Aminoalkyl esters of 3ª‰-hydroxypregn-5-en-20-one
abstract The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1002346/C2/1> wherein Alk is an alkylene radical containing from 1-5 carbon atoms and Z is a morpholino or 4-alkylpiperazino radical, or a radical of the general formula <FORM:1002346/C2/2> in which one of the R1 and R11 is an o -hydroxyalkyl or benzyl radical, and the other is an alkyl radical, and wherein the alkyl and hydroxyalkyl groups encompassed by Z contain from 1-6 carbon atoms and non-toxic addition salts thereof, and a process for the preparation thereof by contacting a compound of the formula <FORM:1002346/C2/3> wherein Alk is as defined above, with an amine of the general formula Z-H. The reaction may be effected in the presence of an alkali metal iodide. Pharmaceutical compositions having anti-convulsant and anti-psychotic activities comprise the above compounds and a pharmaceutical carrier.
