titleOfInvention | Improvements relating to polymeric reaction products of aluminium alkoxides |
abstract | Polymeric derivatives of aluminium alkoxides are prepared by reacting 1 mol. of the aluminium alkoxide polymers of the parent Specification with one to three mols. of dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid or a dialkyl hydrogen phosphate, and the alcohol liberated is distilled off. (The polymers of the parent Specification are obtained by introducing water vapour into an aluminium alkoxide in a liquid state at an elevated temperature at which condensation and liberation of alcohol occurs). The reaction may be carried out in an organic solvent at 70 DEG C. with further heating to remove volatile reactions products. In examples, polymers of aluminium isopropoxide are reacted with dibutyl hydrogen phosphate and with dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid. |
