abstract The present invention relates to a process for encapsulating a compound chosen from the group consisting of at least one active substance, at least one microorganism and mixtures thereof in an organic-inorganic hybrid material of lamellar structure of 2:1 type, said material having the following general formula I: Nax[(Mg3)(Alx(RSi)4-x)O8+x(OH)2] (I) the process comprising: a) the sol-gel synthesis of the organic- inorganic of lamellar structure of type 2:1 in the presence of the compound; b) the recovery of the compound encapsulated in the material of general formula I. It also relates to the compound encapsulated in an organic-inorganic hybrid material of lamellar structure of type 2:1 of general formula I, a composition comprising it and its use for fertilization, nutrition, growth stimulation and/or prophylaxis of plants and/or improvement of the physical, chemical and/or biological properties of the soil or of the growing medium of plants.
