abstract The main subject of the present invention is solid compounds capable of generating hydrogen according to a self-sustaining combustion reaction. Their composition comprises borazane, at least one inorganic oxidant, and at least one metal selected from alkaline earth metals, aluminum, titanium and manganese; said borazane, at least one inorganic oxidant and at least one metal representing at least 95% of the mass of said compounds. It also relates to hydrogen generation by self-sustaining combustion of at least one such compound.
