abstract |
A process for reducing NOx nitrogen oxides emission during the combustion of a gaseous fuel in a burner (10 ') for a reheat furnace in an open fire or atmosphere, for reheating iron or steel products for the continuous coating and / or annealing of metal strips, in particular steel, wherein a first dilution is carried out by mixing the combustion air (7) with combustion products (9) upstream of the burner or in the burner body; a second dilution is carried out directly at the level (A) where the reaction of the gaseous fuel with the combustion air takes place, by mixing the fuel with a recirculated part of the flame or the products of the partial combustion, this double dilution allowing the modification of the physical and chemical characteristics of the gas for the operation of the burner with low oxygen levels in order to obtain a flame producing a very low level of NOx production irrespective of the temperature of the enclosure in which develops combustion. |
