abstract | Comb copolymer consisting of a polymeric backbone to which macromonomeric side segments are grafted, characterized in that said polymeric backbone consists of: More than 55% up to 90% molar, of monomeric units derived from acid 2 2-methyl-[(1-oxo-2-propenyl) amino] 1-propanesulfonic acid (hereinafter referred to as ATBS), from 1% to 20% by mole, more particularly from 4% to 15% by mole, or from monomeric units derived from of a cationic monomer or monomeric units derived from a monomer of formula (I): ## STR2 ## in which m represents a number between 1 and 4, Y represents O or NH, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, R2 and R3, which may be identical or different, represent a methyl radical or an ethyl radical; - Optionally from 0.005 mol% to 1%, monomeric units derived from at least one crosslinking monomer comprising at least two carbon-carbon double bonds, and in that said macromonomeric side segments are derived, for 100 mol%, constitutive of said comb copolymer, polymerization of 9% to 30% molar, N-alkyl acrylamide or N, N-dialkylacrylamide) formula (II): CH2 = C (R4) -C (= O) -N (R5 ) (R6) (II), wherein R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical and R5 and R6 represent, independently of one another, a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, it being understood that at least one of the R5 or R6 radicals does not represent a hydrogen atom, the process for its preparation and its use as a thickener in cosmetics. |
