abstract The present invention relates to the cosmetic use of the combination of a carob seed extract (Ceratonia siliqua L.) and caffeine, or a derivative thereof, as a slimming active agent, to increase the expression of aquaglyceroporins and destocking of triglycerides contained in adipocytes. The invention also relates to a method of cosmetic care comprising the topical application, on at least part of the skin of the body or face, of the combination of a carob germ extract (Ceratonia siliqua L.) and caffeine, or a derivative thereof, in a composition comprising a physiologically acceptable medium, to obtain a slimming effect, and more particularly to reduce localized fat overload.
