abstract | Process for the preparation of a vinyl chloride polymer comprising a step of polymerizing at least vinyl chloride, carried out in aqueous dispersion in the presence of at least one oil-soluble radical initiator and an activator system comprising a water-soluble salt of transition metal and a complexing agent and continued until the autogenous pressure of vinyl chloride is reduced. The water-soluble salt is a zinc salt introduced at the latest at the beginning of said polymerization step and the complexing agent is introduced from the beginning of the polymerization stage and at the latest until said pressure decrease. |
