abstract |
The invention relates to a capacitor assembly (200) that is stable under extreme conditions. The assembly includes, more particularly, a capacitor element (120) positioned within an interior cavity (126) of a housing (222) including a base (123) to which the capacitor element is connected (120) and a cover (225) including an outer wall (223) from which a side wall (224) extends, one end of which is defined by a lip (253) extending at an angle to the longitudinal direction and having a peripheral edge (251) located beyond a periphery of the side wall (224). The lip (253) is sealed to the base (123). In some cases, the peripheral edge of the lip (253) is coplanar with an edge of the base (123). The use of such a lip (253) can provide a more stable connection between the components and improve the sealability and mechanical stability of the capacitor assembly (200), enabling it to operate better under extreme conditions. |
