FILAMENTARY POLYMERIC PARTICLES AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF SAID PARTICLES BY EMULSION CONTROLLED RADICAL POLYMERIZATION. |
abstract |
The present invention relates to polymeric particles in the form of filaments consisting of block copolymers, as well as their method of preparation by controlled radical polymerization in emulsion in the presence of a specific live macroinitiator derived from a nitroxide. Typically, said filamentous particles are obtained in an aqueous medium dispersed by synthesis of said block copolymers carried out in situ by heating the reaction medium to a temperature of 60 to 120 ° C., said macroinitiator being water-soluble, with a percentage of the molar mass of the water soluble macroinitiator in the final block copolymer of between 10 and 50%, the conversion rate of the hydrophobic monomer being at least 50%. The filamentous particles according to the invention have a hydrophilic mass fraction of less than 25% by weight. |
