abstract |
This pellet pressing module comprises a rotating barrel (2) in a radiation-tight envelope. The barrel is moved in a chopped manner and stays at each of the workstations distributed on its circumference; it is stopped during the pressing and demolding of the pellets. This arrangement avoids spreading of the excess powder, so that it can be recovered almost entirely by suction afterwards. Possible application to the manufacture of nuclear fuel pellets. |
