Method of manufacturing a workpiece (100) The manufacturing method includes depositing a first layer of a structural coating (54) on an exterior surface (112) of a substrate (110). The substrate (110) has at least one hollow interior space (114). The manufacturing method further includes machining the substrate (110) through the first layer of the structural coating (54) to define one or more openings in the first layer of the structural coating (54) and forming one or more grooves. respective grooves (132) in the outer surface (112) of the substrate (110). The manufacturing method further includes depositing a second layer of the structural coating (56) over the first layer of the structural coating (54) and over the one or more grooves (132) so that the one or more grooves (132) and the second layer of the structural coating (56) together define one or more channels (130) for cooling the workpiece (100). A part (100) is also described. |
