abstract The present invention relates to a Raman laser device comprising: - an amplifying medium 2 absorbing at a pump wavelength λ and emitting at an excitation wavelength λ, - a Raman medium 3 having at least one Stokes shift Δv , so as to convert the emission at the excitation wavelength λ into a continuous emission at a Raman wavelength λ. The amplifying medium 2 and the Raman medium 3 belong to a resonant Raman cavity at the excitation wavelength λ and at the Raman wavelength λ. The length of the Raman medium 3 is less than 9 mm and the sum of the spaces between each of the elements of the Raman cavity 1 is less than 2mm. The invention further relates to a system comprising such a Raman laser device 1, as well as a method of adjusting the Raman laser device 1.
