The invention consists in the use, in paper coating sauces, of non-water-soluble polymers with a comb structure, having a (meth) acrylic skeleton, onto which side chains containing at least one hydrophobic monomer of the styrene type are grafted. or C1 to C4 (meth) acrylic ester and at least one hydroxy or methoxy polyalkylene glycol monomer. The monomer contents are such that said polymer is amphiphilic, since it is both rich in hydrophobic monomer and in polyalkylene glycol monomer. These products, used in paper coating sauces, make it possible to increase the Brookfield viscosity, to decrease their ACAV viscosity and to improve their water retention, which makes them particularly well suited for coatings with dry extract and / or high depositing speed. Another object of the invention relates to the coating sauces thus formulated. |
