abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a peptide, which comprises culturing a transformant into which is introduced an expression vector comprising a polynucleotide encoding any of the proteins selected from groups (A) to ( E) for preparing a culture, and mixing said culture with a carboxy component and an amine component to form the peptide, said group (A) being the group consisting of proteins having the amino acid sequence in which the amino acid residues ranging from lysine residue (2) to residues leucine (18), histidine (19), alanine (20), glutamine (21), threonine (22), alanine (23) or alanine (24) were deleted in the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 2; said groups (B) to (E) being as defined in the claims.
