abstract | The invention relates to an in vitro method for identifying microRNAs, or their target mRNAs, whose expression, during infection of cells with a virus using a cellular receptor and at least one cellular co-receptor to enter the cell is specifically modified according to the cellular co-receptor used by the virus for its entry into the cells, comprising: i) determining the expression levels of microRNAs in a test cell, expressing a receptor, a first co-receptor and at least one other co-receptor, after infection respectively with a first virus using the first co-receptor and with at least one other virus using another co-receptor; ii) identify microRNAs whose level of expression is modulated upon infection by each of the viruses relative to the level of expression in uninfected cells; iii) compare the microRNAs identified in this way; iv) select microRNAs whose modification of the level of expression is specific to the use of a co-receptor; v) optionally identify the target mRNAs of the microRNAs thus selected. |
