abstract An ultrasonically activatable emulsion comprising, in emulsion in an aqueous solution, microparticles (1) with a diameter (D) of less than 10 μm comprising an active agent and a gaseous precursor (3) in liquid form encapsulated by a first emulsifier (4). The microparticles contain nanoparticles (5) less than 1 μm in size in emulsion in the gaseous precursor, each nanoparticle comprising an internal liquid (6) which contains the active agent and which is encapsulated by a second emulsifier (7).
