abstract | The invention relates to a method and a device for recovering the hydrogen produced by a reformer (24) of a vehicle comprising a muffler (18) provided with catalysts (20) for the treatment of the exhaust gases, process whereby a portion of the exhaust gas is withdrawn for injection into the engine air intake manifold, the reformer producing hydrogen which is mixed with the exhaust gas removed. A portion of the exhaust gases collected and containing hydrogen supplied by the catalyst system (32) of the reformer (24) is sent to the inlet of the exhaust pipe (18) to improve the performance of the catalysts ( 20) for the treatment of the exhaust gases. The device is characterized in that it comprises a pipe (34) having one end (38) connected to the EGR loop (22) downstream of the reformer (24) and another end (36) connected to the exhaust line (16) upstream of the catalysts (20). |
