The invention describes a catalyst comprising at least one Group VIB metal, at least two Group VIII metals, designated majority promoter VIII-1 and co-promoters VIII-i with i ranging from 2 to 5 and at least one carrier consisting of a porous refractory oxide, in which the elements of group VIII are present in proportions defined by the atomic ratio [VIII-1 / (VIII-1 +, ... + VIII-i)], said ratio being between 0 , 5 and 0.85 and a process for hydrotreatment of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks comprising at least one hydrodemetallization step and at least one hydrodesulfurization step, and using a catalyst according to the invention of identical atomic ratio in each of the hydrodemetallation and hydrodesulfurization steps. |
