titleOfInvention LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS FOR TRANSMISSIONS
abstract The invention relates to a method for improving the spall protection properties of transmission lubricating compositions containing sulfur and phosphosulfur compounds comprising a step of adding, in the lubricating composition for initial transmission, compounds (c) reducing by at least 5% the mass content of active sulfur measured by ASTM D1662 in the final composition. The invention also relates to a lubricating composition comprising: (a) from 60 to 90% by weight of one or more oils base, of mineral, synthetic or natural origin, (b) at least one phosphorus or phospho-sulfur additive, anti-wear and extreme pressure, (c) at least one anti-wear and extreme pressure sulfur additive, in which: the ratio between the sulfur element mass content, measured according to ASTM D2622, and the phosphorus element mass content, measured according to ASTM D5185, S / P, of said lubricant composition, is between 20 and 40, preferably between 25 and 35, the ratio between the active sulfur mass content at 150 degrees C, measured according to ASTM D1662, and the sulfur element mass content, measured according to ASTM D5185, Sactif / S, of said lubricating composition, is less than 0.34, preferentially less than 0.33.
