abstract The present invention relates to a process for obtaining alcohol from an aldehyde. More specifically, the present invention relates to a process for obtaining alcohol from an aldehyde using a bifunctional catalyst. It also relates to a process for the condensation of an aldehyde, a process for obtaining alcohol from the hydrogenation of the product of the condensation of an aldehyde as well as the products obtained through each respective process.
