abstract The invention relates to a method for synthesizing a hydrophobic / oleophobic coating on a glass, ceramic or glass-ceramic substrate, preferably glass, by contacting said substrate with the mixture of an excited gas from a device generating a plasma. at atmospheric pressure and a gas containing at least one fluorinated compound, said method being characterized in that a sub-layer, the thickness of which is between 1 and 100 nm, is deposited on said substrate beforehand.It also relates to a product, comprising a monolithic glazing, laminated or multiple, provided on at least a portion of at least one of its surfaces with a hydrophobic / oleophobic coating obtained by the implementation of the method.
