Process and use of the process for desulfurizing a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising at least the following steps: A) a selective hydrogenation of the diolefins present in said initial hydrocarbon feedstock, in the presence of a catalyst comprising a metal of group VIII of the classification periodically on an inert support based on metal oxides, in the presence of a quantity of hydrogen in excess of the stoichiometric value necessary to hydrogenate all of said diolefins, the molar ratio between hydrogen and diolefins being between 1 and 5, B) extraction by a suitable solvent of said hydrogenated fraction making it possible to obtain at least two cuts, of which: a raffinate comprising in the majority olefins, paraffins and naphthenes and a reduced quantity of sulfur compounds contained in the initial charge, - a heavy fraction containing the heavy aromatic hydrocarbons and the majority sulfur compounds contained in the initiale.C load) a solvent regeneration distillation step, at least two of the steps A, B and C being carried out jointly. |
