abstract The invention relates to a process for producing dense material containing UO2, comprising: a) introducing into a vibratory mill at least two powders each comprising UO2, obtained by two different synthesis processes and neighboring specific surfaces; b) stirring said powders in said mill to form a particulate material, the milling intensity to break up the agglomerates and powders aggregates without breaking down the crystallites of the powders, and the grinding energy being such that all the agglomerates and aggregates are destroyed c) introducing said particulate material into a mold; d) applying a shaping stress to said particulate material to obtain a compact material; e) sintering said compact material to obtain the material; The invention also relates to a product obtainable by said process.
