abstract The present invention relates to a process for producing acrolein by dehydration of glycerol in the presence of molecular oxygen. The reaction is carried out in the liquid phase or in the gas phase in the presence of a solid catalyst. Oxygen addition provides good glycerol conversion by inhibiting catalyst deactivation and by-product formation.
