abstract | In a disposition parallel to the fuel rods (3) of a fuel assembly (1) before its loading in the nuclear reactor core, at least one control rod (7) having substantially the same diameter and the same length as a fuel rod (3), containing combustible material and, after a residence period of the assembly in the core of the operating nuclear reactor, the control rod (7) is extracted from the fuel assembly and a measuring a gamma emission rate in counts per second of at least one line of at least one fission product contained in the control rod (7). The combustion rate of the fuel assembly (1) for each of the measurement points is calculated from calculation and correction software from the gamma emission rate measurement. |
