| abstract |
This gas generator comprises in a cylindrical housing (10) provided with a gas discharge opening (13) and a closed end (11), an inner cylindrical member (20) housing a gas generating agent, a filter (3) for purifying the evolved gas and means (5) for igniting said agent in its housing, the inner cylindrical member comprises a portion (21) having a first outer diameter and a portion (22) having a second outside diameter greater than that of the portion (21) and in contact with the inner surface of the housing, the tip end is in contact with the closed end portion of the housing, the filter (3) being provided radially to the outside the portion (21) and the ignition means (5) being provided on the end portion (12) opposite to the closed end portion of the casing (11) .Application particularly to airbag systems in motor vehicles. |
