abstract | The invention relates to a device for the measurement of biological activities and / or physiological variables such as intracellular pH, extracellular pH, proton motive force, enzymatic activity or the like, comprising a so-called measuring cell (1). provided with a chamber (2) adapted to receive the microorganisms to be analyzed and one or more probes (3) opening into the chamber (2), said probes (3) being connected to measuring means (4) and processing means (5) for the electrical signals emitted by the probes (3), characterized in that the measuring cell (1) comprises a vertical well (8) of any cross section, open at its upper end and closed at its lower end obtained in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), provided on its side wall with holes (9) uniformly distributed around the well (8) to allow the probes (3) to open into the well (8), said probes ( 3) being secured by mani sealing impregnated well (8) and extending in support means (12) uniformly distributed around the well (8) and integral with the latter, and adapted to receive a bowl (10) of cross section homothetic to the section of the well (8) and provided on its side wall with holes (11) which extend to the right of the holes (9) of the well (8) when the bowl (10) is positioned in the well (8) to allow the probes ( 3) to open into said bowl (10) in which are placed the microorganisms to be analyzed. |
