titleOfInvention | NOVEL CALCIUM PHOSPHATE GRANULES OF THE HYDROXYAPATITE TYPE, PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR APPLICATIONS |
abstract | The present invention relates to calcium phosphates in the form of granules having an X-ray diffraction pattern characteristic of hydroxyapatite and good compressibility and flow characteristics in direct compression applications. The invention also relates to the process for the preparation of said granules, characterized in that it comprises the treatment of a dicalcium phosphate suspension of brushite having a certain particle size distribution, with the aid of a basic solution, the maintenance of the pH at at least 7.0 for a period of time sufficient to allow the conversion of calcium phosphate brushite to hydroxyapatite calcium phosphate. |
