abstract | The present invention relates to a process for grafting an unsaturated monomer onto a fluorinated polymer in which: a) the fluorinated polymer is mixed in the molten state with the unsaturated monomer, b) the mixture obtained in a) is put in the form of films, plates, granules or powder, c) the products of step b) are subjected, in the absence of air, to photonic (gamma) or electronic (beta) irradiation at a dose of between 1 and 15 Mrad, d) the product obtained in c) is optionally treated to remove all or part of the unsaturated monomer which has not been grafted onto the fluoropolymer. The invention also relates to structures comprising at least one layer of these mixtures and at least one layer of another material. The invention also relates to the use of these structures to obtain a barrier effect. These structures are a barrier to many fluids and in particular to gasoline and air conditioning fluids. structures can go under s in the form of bottles, tanks, containers, hoses and containers of all kinds. They can also be made into films with which packaging is made. The invention also relates to structures in which the fluoropolymer is used to protect substrates. |
